Our Top 3 Work From Home Tips

A few of us on the SFDB team work from home so we thought it would be fun to share our best tips.

1) Take a break to recharge, preferably outside

We all agree that taking breaks to get outside is most important.

“My absolute top thing is making sure you're still getting fresh air / exercise! It's so easy to get into the zone and work for hours without ever getting up from your chair but it's so bad for you. Open the windows, take a quick walk, etc. I got a cheap stationary bike that has a desk top on it that my laptop can sit on so I can work and cycle and it's been great as well. :)” - Brandi Paretti

2) A clean house / work environment

This is high on the list of importance as well.

“I work best when my whole house is clean so that I can move around throughout the day, working from the sunniest room :) If that’s not possible then I at least make sure to have my home office clean and tidy with art and books that inspire me.” - Jess Azevedo

3) A task list, organized by priority

We use Dropbox and Trello to keep our projects organized and on track. We each keep our own task lists organized by priority and make sure not to create overwhelm with too many tasks in one day.

“I like to have a reasonable list of things to accomplish, focusing on the top three priorities” - Jonathan Carta (JC)

We hope these three simple tips are helpful for anyone who is newer to the WFH life. Most importantly, we hope you and your loved ones are healthy and safe during this time of uncertainty.
