Mission Mood

Full Home Remodel | Mission District, San Francisco

This remodel of a pre-earthquake Victorian home in San Francisco’s Mission District focused on improving functionality while preserving the original architectural character.

We carefully opened up the floor plan to create a more functional layout for a busy family, while maintaining and matching existing details such as hardwood floors, doors, windows, trim, and ceiling medallions.

The homeowners chose a number of bold and personal design elements, including colorful tile in the powder room and custom paint detailing in the dining area.

A unique feature of the project is a concealed garage integrated into the original facade. We rebuilt the ground floor bay window with a custom frame and garage system, allowing for a three-car garage behind what reads as the original exterior.

The result is a home that balances historic character with a more open, functional layout and thoughtfully integrated design details.
