Elsie Street Design Build

Kitchen Remodel | Bernal Heights | San Francisco

Project Scope

SF Design Build was hired to remodel the kitchen in this single-family home. The modern home owners were ready for a larger, more functional kitchen that opened up to their dining and living areas.

The dividing wall was removed and replaced with an island with seating for three. Floor to ceiling pantry cabinets extend past the kitchen into the dining area to maximize storage and create unity between the two spaces. Fireclay tiles add a fresh pop of color and depth to the vertical surfaces. The blue also pairs perfectly with the wood dining table and chairs.

The existing hardwood floors were matched, and the rest of the surfaces painted white to highlight the families fun art and other furnishings in the surrounding rooms.

Client Testimonial

SFDB recently completed a small but complex remodel/expansion of a bathroom and walk-in closet for us and we couldn’t be more pleased. There was a significant amount of both infrastructure/foundational work as well as fine finish work.
It was easy to work with them on reducing and increasing scope with no complex change orders.
They were also extremely helpful in moving us in and out of the bedroom and arranging carpet installation, none of which was in the original SOW.
The work was high quality and everyone who has seen it has been very impressed.
We’re looking forward to working with them on several future projects, which is really the best recommendation anyone could give.
